Book Shout Out

I was recently informed about a mention I received in this very cool book about how we hear and interpret music by Susan Rogers; This Is What It Sounds Like: What the Music You Love Says About You. As some might know, Susan was head engineer at Paisley Park for many years and I had the opportunity to work with her on several demos back when I was cutting my teeth in the musical world. This work (as well as a demo with Mike Morgan) eventually got me a deal with Virgin Records.

To quote:
“Listen to SAY YES from his 2005 EP Delta. You will hear a vocal timbre that I find so personally swoon-worthy, it makes me forget my own name. To my ear he sounds like a close-mic’ed and very expensive cello, with the bow dragging slowly yet intently across the strings. An uncommon privilege to hear.”

Fine praise indeed. Susan has always been a champion for my music and
I’m extremely flattered by this mention in such a ground breaking work.

Pick up this fantastic book by Susan Rogers anywhere on the internet.
